Have you been to weddings where they have a mother / son dance for the mother and the groom?

I have 3 boys and when they get married this is going to be a must.

What are some great songs for mother/son to dance to?

Well I can't say that I've seen an actual mother/son dance. Usually the father/daughter dance and then they call out the mother/son too.  But in your case- I say go for it- It is all preference.

Wind beneath my wings... the only song I can think of right now to fit.

This is something new to me! Even though I had been to endless weddings, I have never come across one. Do you have any video clips for that?

I don't have any clips of this.  I just thought it would be a nice thing to do.  Why should the father of the bride get the dance with his daughter and not the mother of the groom get a special dance with her son?

I didn't say the mother of the groom shouldn't dance with her son. It is just that I don't see this happening before. In  every weddings that I attended , I only saw the father of the bride dance with her daughter. Maybe you can furnish me the details why this is happenings.

We did. My hubby and his mother danced to "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban. It was a great moment. My mother-In-Law didn't know we planned it. She was moved. Kiss

flowerhorn~ I was just saying it would be a nice thing to do since I have 3 boys.  I would love to have a special dance for the mother/son-groom maybe after the father/bride dance.

We had this at our wedding. My husband and his mother danced to a Boys to Men song for moms (can't remember the name right now...maybe it's just called Mama???).

I think a beautiful song would be Celine Dions "Because You Loved Me" Here's a link to it.

I believe the actual name of the song is "A Song For Mama"

Thanks for the links to the songs.

I was at a wedding last night and they had the mother/groom dance.  It was a country song I have never heard of before...but very special.
