How did you decide who was going to be your maid of honor?

Was it a best friend or your sister?

My sister is young and my family didn't show for my wedding or reception. So, the hardest part I had was choosing between my two close friends.One I saw and talked to more often and one I've known since I was 10.

I ended up going with who I talked to, worked with and saw more.However now we no longer talk. I don't regret choosing her but after I stopped working at my job and chose to stay at home with my daughter.Things changed.She didn't want kids and I don't know if thats part of it or not.But, thats how I chose.

I think the relationship you have with your sister may play a part but I have always looked at the maid of honor as a best friend someone who is not family. Family already knows you care this is a good way to show your best friend how much you care as well.

If  I were to choose again, it would have been my sister.

I chose my best friend. Then we grew apart and my sister is still here and she is my best friend.

I always thought I should choose my best friend because she chose me....big mistake.

I did choose my sister because she really is my best freind too. we talk constantly and go out once aweek. She watches my son every Wednesday on her day off too.
