Daughter as maid of honor

Do you think it is a good idea for a single mom, getting married for the first time, to have her daughter be the maid of honor?  Do you think that maybe age might be a factor in the decision?

I thought it was a  nice way to have the bride bring her daughter into the wedding and maker her feel a part of the whole ceremony.

I don't see anything wrong with it.But a lot would depend on the age.I can't picture a 5 year old as a maid of honor and that just doesn't fit with the maid of honor is already suppose to be married and so on.It's nice to include your daughter in it but I really think people need to consider how the child will act around the new husband and make sure they've known them long enough etc.Some people fail to think about those things and get caught up in everything.Depending on the child it may be hard for them to see their mom marry someone other then they're father.

I guess it is actually the maitron of honor, isn't it?

This daughter I know is 7.   It looked weird having her stand right by her mom, but it was really nice.  They included her in the wedding and even gave her a ring too.  It was very sweet.
