Bride's Maids Gowns

I tried to be considerate of my bride's maids and chose gowns they would be likely to wear at other functions. No hideous taffeta but fabrics that translated well to other occasions that could be easily altered.

I think the happiest bridesmaid is one who buys a dress that she can and will wear again.
As the bride, you have all control. You can decide if you want to make your friends spend a bundle on a one time wear dress, or give them some say in the matter.
I was just at a wedding where the bride gave the bridesmaids the color she wanted and they all went out and bought different dresses, same color. It was a great idea~ everyone will definitely be able to use the dress again.

I agree that it is important to take into consideration whether or not they will be able to wear them again. I ended up with a dress only fit for a wedding or a prom and considering my age and the chances of someone else asking me to be a part of their wedding and using the same colors :-) Basically I had just spent more than I could afford on a dress I can never use again.

Even though it is your
BIG
day and you can have your say in everything, issue such as considering your bridesmaid's gown suitability and usage over other occasions shows that you really care for the one that you know. I am deeply respectful and wishful that I have you as a friend.
Some people just don't care other people feeling and needs as they think they are the king and queen of the day.

I picked the color. It was red. At the bridal places they now have 25 different dresses is each color. I let the girls pick there own dress. I said full length but anything else goes.
