We are having this discussion regarding a wedding tomorrow.  My nephew is getting married.   My sister~ the mother of the groom~ is wearing a long dress.  She has been told that she has to wear pantihose.

I disagree.  She is much more comfortable without them and no one will even see her legs.

What do you think?

I wouldn't wear them. That is a long time to be stuck in those. I think my under garmets only survived 30 minutes into my reception. lol

I think those pantyhose make you looks demure. Yep, it is really inconvenient in wearing them but it is a wedding and we have to look all our best. Smiley

I didn't wear them. I hate pantyhose. I think they are the worst female invention ever created. So I went bare-legged! lol

I don't think pantyhose are necessary.  It's so warm that they might actually cause fainting, which would be a good argument if faced with disapproval!

Me too.Especially since I had open toed shoes. We also didn't wear them at my friends wedding...actually make that any of the recent weddings I've been in.We all had the talk about how uncomfortable they are, the length or the dress and the shoes. Then came the toe nail color discussion.haha.We opted against them due to heat, length of the dress and the shoes. We painted our toes and that was good enough.

I agree, they aren't necessary.  But if you do decide to wear open toed shoes, a pedicure is a must.
