2012 Prom and Graduation Dress Trends,
Colors and Styles
It's never too early to start planning, what is for many girls, the most special event of their high school year. The search for the perfect Prom or Graduation dress often begins as soon as the school year commences.
A great way to start planning what you'll be wearing to your Graduation or Prom event, is to have a peek at what the world's top fashion designers are doing.
The best place to find inspiration and to learn about upcoming trends, are designer runway shows. Spring 2012 resort collections are unveiled almost a year ahead of the season they're designed to be worn. These collections feature a number of formal gowns and dresses along with day wear.
Here's just a sample of what designers will be offering on special occasion dresses in 2012.
Trend: White Dresses From Badgley Mischka to Lanvin, designers graced their runways with ethereal white frocks designed with sheer layers that elegantly skim the figure.

Trend: Color
Vibrant red, blue, pink, green, yellow and purple dominated several collections. Along with jewel and primary colors, some designers also draped their models in muted shades of green, champagne, and silver in the same collections. Prints large and small are still showing strong on the runway, but there were even more solid colored confections with additions like sparkling bead work and embellishments including ruffles, petals, feathers and bows.
